Alpha 3 was responsible for the development and maintenance of the cost-loaded CPM schedule for reconstruction of the Unit 3 cooling tower. Alpha 3 provided schedule constructability analysis to optimize tower run-time and balance plant operations and construction efficiency by managing schedule float. The project scope included structural concrete reconstruction, restoration, and cathodic protection installation. Alpha 3 also provided time impact analyses for schedule delays and supported the successful negotiation of any required time extensions between the owner, NRG, and the contractor, International Chimney Corporation. In an interesting aspect of this engagement, Alpha 3 was retained by both the owner and the contractor during different periods of the project.
